A Story in a Bus

        Story While Travelling

"Mom, I don't want to go!" I was shouting. Mom said, "Get ready fast otherwise you will be late". I carried my heavy bag with the heavy heart. Mom said me to check if I had packed everything. I said I had and stood in front of her. She gave me some money and said, "Have a safe journey, take care". I smiled in front of her and went outside the house. Then I felt I would miss her a lot and some drops of tears were trimbling on my eyes.

I walked little faster and tried to control myself. I reached to the ticket counter and bought a ticket to Kathmandu. I am a student and I was going to Kathmandu since I used to study in a college in Kathmandu. I had come to spend holidays in my hometown and I was returning back for my study.

Although the journey from my hometown to Kathmandu wasn't  adventurous but for me travelling alone was an adventurous task since it was my first time travelling alone in a bus. I was little bit scared, nervous and excited as well. I took my ticket and went to the bus. I searched for my seat I saw a boy was sitting on the window side of my seat. Actually I love to sit in the window side but I couldn't request him to let me seat on that side. So I sat on the remaining side silently. I was having trouble in managing my bags because I had two bags on my lap and it was making me difficult. But I tried to adjust little bit. Then bus started moving. I took my earphone played some music and was enjoying music. The bus was so packed that day. Overall my experience of travelling alone was going well.

After 30 minutes I got call from my mom saying, "your friend was coming behind you, did you two meet?". But I hadn't met anyone. I wished I was little bit late so that I would have met my friend. But I didn't have option so I said it's okay to travel alone to myself. My mom was asking who was on my side and other questions. Since the guy on my side was listening me talking to my mom so I said everything is okay mom and also added that I was feeling bored. I cut the call. Then the guy who was completely silent for 30 minutes suddenly started talking to me.

He started the conversation saying hi!. I replied and our conversation kept going. We talked sometimes about our academics.  By talking for a while I found out that the guy had come to our hometown to visit. According to him he used to study on bachelor first year. Our conversation was going interesting. While talking we knew that there were few people who was known by him and me too. So, we didn't lack topic for talking. We were talking continuously as if we had known each other some years back. So, overall I was enjoying his company.

He helped me keep my one bag on his side so that I had comfortable seat thereafter. I didn't notice that we were talking for 2 hours. It was my first time talking to someone unknown for 2 hours. Our bus suddenly stopped at a hotel. He asked to go for the lunch with him but I found it little uncomfortable and refused. We both got out of bus. I bought a bottle of water and a packet of noodles. I again went to my seat and ate a chocolate that was in my bag. After sometimes he returned back with a packets of chips and some oranges. He said he forgot to bring water and was about to go to buy water. I said we can share water so u don't need to go again to buy water. He said okay and went to his seat.

Our conversation started again. He offered me some oranges and I ate. And then we ate what we have bought sharing with each other. At first we finished chips then noodles. We ate orange thereafter. We were so busy talking with each other then we got the unwanted traffic jam. The jam continued for an hour. He said me that he was happy with the jam and I was shocked to know that. Actually, "who enjoys jam yrr?" I said, "May I know the reason why you like traffic jams?" He said, " I don't like jams but today I am enjoying jam because I am getting chance to spend more time with you." That was an unexpected answer for me. So, I laughed and said, "Ohh! you are good at flirtingπŸ˜‚." He replied, " I am not flirting I am saying what I am feeling." I laughed and stayed silent because I didn't get any words to reply him. After sometimes he asked me why I was silent. I said nothing I didn't get anything to talk so I was silent. A song was playing in the bus and he was teasing me singing the song since the song was related to my cast. I laughed and said' "you are bad at singing don't sing." He laughed and stopped.

Then luckily jam was over and bus started moving. After some time many people got into the bus. Since the bus was full people were standing near my seat. I think they were drunk and smelling bad. So,  I was feeling difficult. Although I hadn't said anything to him he offered me to exchange my seat with him. I agreed so, I was free from that smell of alcohol. I thanked him. After some time we were going to reach our destination. I was overall happy with my first time travelling alone.

Suddenly, he gave his phone to me and said, "Will you please save your number in my phone." I was really not expecting that. I was little bit uncomfortable and refused to give my number. He said, "if you think we can be friends then you can give me your number and don't worry I won't disturb you calling randomly." I said, "sorry I don't have the habit of sharing my phone number even to my friends." He again said, " I want to stay connected with you please share your number." I remained silent. He said, "it's okay if you don't want. I can't force you." I only smiled and didn't say anything.

It was the time that he had reached his destination and was going to get outside the bus. He looked at me smiled and said, " I wish you to be in my side while travelling again, bye, take care." And got out of the bus.

I thought about him until I reached my destination then I got out of the bus leaving his memory somewhere in that bus.

Spread love❤
